Soil gas / radon mitigation

Ranked by how much radon actually gets removed. Active sub-slab depressurisation vents soil gas before it can enter and achieves the larger, more dependable reduction; a sealed barrier is passive and performs only as long as it stays intact, a single service penetration or crack undoes a large part of it.

Solutions

• Sub-slab depressurisation / radon sump: Vents soil gas from beneath the foundation to the exterior before it can enter the building.
• Sealed slab and vapour barrier: Physical barrier at the foundation blocking soil gas entry; simpler but less robust than active depressurisation.
